Students in grades 4 and 5 participated in an exciting and informative interactive presentation when Bluebonnet Award winning author, Phil Bildner, visited on Nov. 3rd, 2006.

Mother Goose
On Oct. 30, Mother Goose entertained PK, K, and 1st grade classes with some of her most well known rhymes and songs.

Grades K- 2: Tall Tale Talk Storytelling Phoebe Clappsaddle stories describes the history of the lariat, the cowboy hat, and the tumbleweed; also included a small roping demonstration with “Medium-rare” or “T-bone,” her practice bull
Grades 3 & 5: What’s Out There? Her presentation featuring Highlights from the Hubble Telescope and the six Solar System books from Children’s Press/ Scholastic; included a PowerPoint slide with views of space and her ride on NASA’s zero-gravity trainer, the “Vomit Comet” and an 8 minute video called The Power of 10.

Grade 4: Pulling A Story Out Of The Air A writing presentation that gave the background of her writing career, idea gathering hints, writing organizational skills, and revision suggestions that encouraged students to Pull Stories, and enjoy the process.
