Wolfe Rebuild Steering Committee Enters Phase II of Work
(January 29, 2009) – The Wolfe Elementary Rebuild Steering Committee has completed the first phase of its work, consisting of defining the committee’s parameters, process development and review of demographic projections, and is now set to begin phase two.
Phase two will consist of investigating possibilities for the school in terms of a program model and/or school design. At the end of phase two a report of the committee’s work will be presented to the Board of Trustees for consideration.
The committee, comprised of 18 members representing parents, neighborhood residents, local business, as well as campus and central administration, is charged with creating and submitting a program concept and design for rebuilding, which is the preferred option for Wolfe, to the Katy ISD Board of Trustees. The goal is to create a plan that would gain the most support and be sustained over time by the community surrounding the campus, and perhaps, the overall school district.
The rebuilding plan will take into consideration projected enrollment, rebuilding costs, land values, and the commitments necessary for sustaining the school in the future. If approved by the Board, the facility design phase would follow.
