Marching Band Showcase to Benefit Band Students near El Paso
Who knew one student’s compassionate idea two years ago would one day grow to include more than 1,200 Katy ISD band students marching together to raise donations for a band 700 miles away in west Texas – one whose members include many students living in temporary housing without running water.
Katy ISD Provides Bullying Prevention and Internet Safety Training
Two very relevant threats to the safety and well-being of children today include bullying and the prevalence of Internet sexual predators on the internet. These concerns identified by Katy ISD’s the Safe and Drug Free School and Communities Task Force will be addressed by experts during repeat training Oct. 24 at 5:30 and 7:15 p.m., at the Education Support Complex. All sessions are open to the public.
Katy ISD Dedicates 28th Elementary School in Honor of Ursula Stephens
Katy Independent School District will dedicate its 28th elementary school in honor of longtime teacher and administrator Ursula Stephens. The dedication program will be Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m., with a reception to follow. The public is invited to attend this special event at Stephens Elementary located at 2715 Fry Road, Katy, Texas.
2007 Rezoning Information for Elementary Schools 30 & 31 and Junior High Schools 11 & 12
The rezoning process for Elementary Schools 30 and 31 and Junior High Schools 11 and 12 begin this month. Two committees, one for elementary and one for junior high, will be formed and comprised of parents representing the Land Use Zones (LUZs) that could be potentially affected by this rezoning.
