Picture Gallery: VIPS Events 2006-07

         'Volunteers are Superheroes'.

The school year, 2006-07 was a milestone year for the VIPS program. It was a year when a record 2,300 volunteers welcomed former First Lady, Mrs. Barbara Bush as keynote speaker at the VIPS Celebration Breakfast.
We also said farewell to Katy ISD Superintendent, Dr. Leonard Merrell, who retired after 12 years in Katy. During those 12 years, volunteers donated  5,012,704 hours to Katy ISD!

 Heroes


My Hero is....

  • John Williams because of his dedication to his film scores and his passion for music. I never would have gone into music without his influence.
  • K.K. because even though she lost her battle with leukemia, she was a fighter to the end. She accepted the Lord's path for her and lived each day appreciating others and finding goodness.
  • my mom, because her beauty withstands time. This inner beauty including kindness, love, giving and patience only improves with time.
  • Daddy, because he is so funny. He's always taught me to follow my dreams. He has always taught me just to be myself, and be happy about my life.
  • my cousin, because he was there for me when my mom passed away, he took me places so I won't be sad.
  • my teachers. because they teach me, without them I would be dumb. To me these teachers are cool.
