Announcements

Cinco Ranch High School will host the high school summer school this year.  First semester classes run June 12-27, 7:30 - 1:30.  Second semester classes run July 1st-17th.

The Katy ISD summer break starts June 2 and continues until the first day of the 2008-09 school year which is August 25. A limited staff will be on campus during the summer but most student-related personnel will be gone. 

As we near the 2008-09 school year, please check back here to view important updates regarding various events and deadlines. Also, check Katyisd.org for registration information as well as district-wide events such as open houses, orientations, school supply lists, and transportation information. In addition, one can access our parent programs such as the Parent Information Center and MealPay from the district website.

Reminder for Seniors...
2009 seniors to schedule their senior yearbook photo shoot with Prestige Photos at 281-492-9361.  The deadline for senior photos to be taken is September 15, 2008. 

The deadline to order a senior yearbook ad or group organization ad is October 6, 2008.

Main Clinic news 
It is District procedure to return or destroy any unused medications at the end of each school year.   Over-the-Counter medicines will start going home next week (May 19-23).   Please keep these at home.   All prescription medications should be picked up by a parent or guardian.  All narcotics, psychotropic drugs and epi-pens must be picked up by a parent or guardian by the last day of school.  Any and all medicines left in the clinic after May 30th will be destroyed per KISD policy.

Physician Statements will be required, starting August 2008, for all Food Allergies.  The cafeterias will not be able to provide alternative foods unless this is on file.  You may pick up the form in any KISD clinic.  Please turn it in to your students’ school nurse.  A copy will be provided to the campus cafeteria manager.

If your student is due an immunization this summer, please get this done ASAP.  He/She will not be allowed to start classes or receive a schedule next fall until they are cleared thru the clinic.  You can bring a copy of the shot record to school this summer and leave it in the main office, in the box provided.

And finally, all medication forms, permission to carry inhalers, Diabetic Care Plans, Allergy Action Plans, etc. must be renewed for each school year.  They do NOT carry over from year to year.  Please take care of this during the summer.  You can find most forms on the district website.  www.kisd.org.

Potential Fish Roundup Mentors 
To participate in this event you must attend both training days—June 3 and August 4 and bring the registration and t-shirt fee on June 3. No exceptions can be made. Fish Roundup Day is August 5. Please do not turn in a form unless you can meet the previous requirements.

Summer Volunteer Hours
Any students wanting to volunteer in the Textbook room during the summer should stop by the bookroom to sign up now. Help will be needed starting June 3rd.

FISH ROUND-UP
Cinco Ranch High School proudly announces its Class of 2012 Fish Roundup (formerly known as Fish Camp & Roundup). Teachers and supervised upperclassmen will host a fun-filled and informative day for the incoming freshmen on Tuesday, August 5, 2008; from 9am to 4pm. Incoming freshmen will tour the 9th grade center and the main campus as they meet many new friends at CRHS. In addition, the incoming freshmen will receive a copy of their course selections, take yearbook pictures, pick-up student ID badges, and obtain textbooks and lockers. A pizza lunch will be provided for all registered freshmen. That same evening from 7-10 PM students who have attended Fish Roundup are invited to a dance in their honor. The exclusive Fish Roundup T-shirt will be their ticket into the dance.
Date: Tuesday, August 5th
Time: Fish Roundup is 9am – 4pm; the dance is 7pm – 10pm.
Fee: $20.00 ($25.00 After July 7) includes T-shirt for entry into dance
Deadline: Postmarked by Monday July 7, 2008 (must be received by July 21, 2008 to guarantee a t-shirt)

Incoming Students
If you are planning to enroll at Cinco Ranch High School, please complete the Online PreEnrollment form. Parents should visit KISD's Information page to locate other necessary information regarding registration.

Mandatory ID Badges
Effective immediately, all students must present their school ID when checking into after school detention and Saturday detention.  Students who report without an ID will not be permitted to enter and will be referred to the grade level AP for failure to serve.  If you have lost your ID, replacements cost $3 and may be requested at any time through the main campus front office. Replacement IDs are available for pick-up on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.
