Senior Parent Night
is Monday, September 27, 2010 at 6:30 in the Performing Arts Center.  The counselors will provide important information about college applications and admissions, financial aid, transcripts, credit & graduation requirements, SAT & ACT and THEA testing.  We look forward to seeing you!

CRHS Band Boosters Homecoming Mums & Garters on SALE now!
September 7 thru September 24th. Tuesday and Thursday's in the 9th Grade Center and Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Main Commons. Order Early as items sell out fast! Thank you for supporting your CRHS Band!

Football Game
The CRHS Varsity Football Game is Saturday, September 11th at 6:00 vs Clear Springs (at Rhodes Stadium).  Tickets will be sold on campus during lunches (10:15 – 12:40) Thursday and Friday. Ticket prices are:

• Pre-Sale – Reserved $10
• Pre-Sale – Adult (General Admission) $6
• Pre-Sale – Student (General Admission) $4
• Gate – Adult (General Admission) $10
• Gate – Student (General Admission) $5

Students
Remember that you should only cross the streets at appropriate crosswalks. Crossing the Grand Parkway on foot is extremely dangerous.

Juniors
Herff Jones representatives will be back on Thursday, September 9, during lunches for Class Ring orders.  Place your class ring order on Thursday during lunches in the CRHS Commons.

Science Honor Society
Any juniors or seniors interested in joining need to pick up an application outside a science teacher’s classroom.  All forms need to be turned in to Mrs. Wagner in room 2604 by Friday, September 17th. 

The Model United Nations club
will have its first meeting of the year this Thursday, Sept. 9th, in room 2016 at 7am.  If you are interested in the club it is very important that you attend.

Seniors
the yearbook senior portrait deadline is approaching quickly.  If you have not been photographed at Prestige Photography for your yearbook senior portrait, please contact Prestige at 281-492-9361 and schedule that before the October 2 deadline.  Contact information is listed on posters in the main hallway throughout the building. Hurry!  Don’t miss this deadline! 

Underclassmen
if you were NOT photographed by Lifetouch at Round-up or you wish to have a re-take portrait done, then mark Friday, September 24th on your calendar.  This will be the last day for yearbook portrait photos to be taken.

Seniors
The deadline for ordering a yearbook senior ad is September 30.  After that date, ads will be accepted on space availability only.  Senior ad contracts are available on the CRHS school website under the organizations link or in Room 1221. Hurry, ad space sold out last year.

POWER role models
Applications (completed) are due by Friday, 9/10. No late applications will be accepted. As soon as all paperwork is completed and turned in to Mrs. Bassham or Mrs. Wales in the library, we will schedule you an interview time with a KISD POWER police officer.

Retest-Reteach Procedures
We want to take a moment to share some information regarding our new campus wide reteaching/retesting procedures.  We believe that students should have multiple opportunities to show mastery of the curriculum.  This is why we provide a variety of ways to assess their learning. GPA Exemption forms are due Friday, Sept. 10th to the main campus counselors’ office.

Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society
The deadline to apply has been extended. Please pick up applications in room 2216 ASAP and return them no later than Wednesday, September 8. Dues for all members, new and returning, are to be returned no later than September 10.

Parents of Freshmen
If you missed the Freshman Parent Night on Wednesday, September 1st you can view the presentation here.

Future Business Leaders of America
All cougars who would like to join, please pick up your application outside Room 2505 and return with your money by September 30.  The first FBLA meeting will be before or after school on Thursday, September 16.

Any FBLA freshman who would like to be an FBLA Freshman Ambassador, pick up an application outside Room 2505 and return right away to Mrs. Ellaby or Mr. Bryan.

The PTSA is hosting a Fall Welcome Coffee
Tuesday, September 14 at 10:00 am
in the CRHS LGI (Second Floor above the Rotunda) to welcome newly registered CRHS parents as well as any other parents that just want to find out more about Cinco Ranch High School.  Please come for an opportunity to hear from school administrators, staff, booster club representatives as well as meet other parents! 

Go, Go, Go Joseph!
CRHS Bravo Show Choir Presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Sept 16, 17 & 18 at 7:30 pm in the PAC.  Please join the fun and share the excitement, energy, and catchy tunes in this lively musical which has charmed audiences on Broadway and around the world. Advance tickets are Adults $8 and Students $6, and will be on sale starting Sept 7 from 10 am - 12:30 pm in the CRHS Main Commons, or you may use the order form on this link.  Tickets at the door will be Adults $10 and Students $8. Class Ring Parent Night
Herff Jones representatives will be on campus for Class Ring Parent Night After-School Ring Ordering Sessions on Wednesday, September 1st from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 2nd from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Commons.   Rings can also be ordered on Thursday, September 2nd and Friday, September 3rd during all lunches in the Commons.  Any questions?  Stop by Room 1628.

Foreign Language
Anyone interested in receiving credit by taking a foreign language test in French, Spanish, German, Chinese, or Japanese should stop in the Counselor's Office as soon as possible for the necessary paperwork. The test is scheduled for Saturday, September 11th.

Open House
CRHS Open House has been changed from Sept. 8th to Sept. 15th from 7pm – 9pm. The book fair starts at 6:30 pm.

All students
You must show a current Cinco Ranch ID to request a VOE and to pick up dropped off items in the main and 9th grade offices.

Computer Labs Open!
Computer Labs 1000 and 1613 are now open for student use every morning from 6:45 am – 7:20 am. It costs 10 cents per page to print.

Sophomore parking tags
Your tags won't be for sale until the beginning of the second six weeks. We have to wait a six week period to allow for as many seniors and juniors to get their parking tags, so we will know how many spots we have left to sell for sophomores. We only guarantee that seniors and juniors will have spots; we then allow sophomores remaining spaces. Please listen for announcements at the beginning of the second six weeks for parking tag sales.

Power Role model club (formerly known as DARE)
If you did not pick up an application during Round Up, please come by the library to get one ASAP. All completed role model applications are due by Fri., Sept. 10 (to Mrs. Bassham or Mrs. Wales—in the library).

Student Council
There will be a meeting on Friday, September 3rd at 2:45pm in room 1629. Please join us for information about Student Council, membership information, committee information, activities, calendar, and field trip information.

PTSA Community Garage Sale
The Cinco Ranch High School PTSA will be sponsoring a community garage sale in the parking lot of the school on October 2nd from 7:00 a.m. until noon. Spaces can be rented for $25 each, and the fee includes a parking space for your car. Spaces will be filled as registrants arrive on the day of the sale, and there will be plenty of spaces available for rent. Please down load the forms to rent your space.
