will have its next general meeting on Wednesday in the LGI both before school at 7:00 and after school at 2:50.
Cheer candidates
please make sure all of your paperwork is completed and submitted by Friday, March 12. All must meet this deadline in order to be considered for cheerleader tryouts. Everything you need to know is located on the CRHS cheerleader website.
The Southland Conference
returns to the Merrell Center to host their Men’s and Women’s basketball tournaments from March 9-13. The event will consist of fourteen collegiate basketball games over the course of five days with the winners advancing to the NCAA tournament. Ticket vouchers for this tournament are available from your 1st period teacher or the Main Campus Front Office. The voucher can be redeemed for a ticket to one tournament game, subject to seating availability.
Attention sophomores and juniors
Information about NHS induction has been mailed home. If you
have questions about NHS induction and whether or not you are eligible, please check the bulletin
boards near rooms 2629 and 2018, or visit with Mrs. Smalley in 2018 or Mrs. Rolon in 2011. Eligible
students are sophomores and juniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above with a clean discipline
record.

we have a place for you with the football video crew. You will have the opportunity to letter while earning a class credit. See Coach Hammond or Coach Edwards to sign up.

Macho Man Volleyball
We are going to be on a regular bell schedule for Macho Man Volleyball on Thursday, March 11th with attendees missing the last half of 7th period. Our senior boys will be fighting for a victory over the MRHS Mavericks. This event is going to be a “buy-out”. Tickets will be sold during all lunches, in both cafeterias, on the day of the event. All grades will have the chance to buy a ticket for $1.00.

Any student (junior or senior next year) who wants to sign up for AP Art History
for next year, please contact Mrs. Huffman at 28l-237-5047 or go by room 1103. The course will give them Fine Arts credit as well as AP credit for high school and possible CollegeBoard credit for college if they score well on exam.

Tory's Triumph: Walk a Mile in My Shoes
The Cinco Ranch High School class of 2012 will be hosting Tory's Triumph: Walk a Mile in My Shoes--a walk-a-thon to benefit Texas Children's Hospital Dialysis Unit. Please come and help support these deserving children on April 17, 2010 at 9 am at the Cinco Ranch High School Cougar Stadium. All proceeds will go towards improving the dialysis facilities including comfortable chairs for patients undergoing treatment and much needed medical supplies.
This event was inspired by former CRHS classmate Tory Bolin. Tory had a kidney transplant on October 27, 2009 and was a patient at the TCH-Dialysis Unit. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the purchase of a dialysis chair. Please come out and help us help these kids!

Lifetouch Photography will be at CRHS on March 10 to take “Spring Portraits”.
These are beautiful and a higher portrait quality with a very unique background. Envelopes for payment and brochures with background choices are in the front office. Payment must be made at the time the portrait is taken.
Anyone interested in mentoring at the 2010 FISH CAMP? If so, please come by 1629 (main campus, last English hallway) and pick up, complete, and turn the form into Mrs. Manthei (1629) as soon as possible. The DEADLINE for all applications is April 15th. No late forms will be accepted. Thank you for your interest.
AP Test Registration – March 1 –March 12, 2010
Students it is time to register for AP Tests that will be administered May 3 - 14.
Registration paperwork will be distributed in classes on Tuesday February 23, 2010 and registration is open from March 1- March 12, 2010.
The CRHS registration website is http://apps.katyisd.org/Public/Register/crhsaptestregistration and you must turn in your registration form and payment to the Testing Office, Room 2611. The cost is $56 per AP Exam and payment must be check or money order, payable to KATY ISD. Please note that no cash will be accepted this year.
Students interested in taking the AP Chinese or AP Japanese exams MUST complete their registration by March 10th. Please come by the Testing office, Room 2611 if you have questions.

Technology Course Offerings
Students will receive their course selection cards and catalogs on Tuesday, February 16th. Before selecting electives, please take the time to review the technology course offerings. “Students need to be able to use computers and other technologies flexibly, creatively and purposefully.” (Eisenberg and Johnson) Our classes will help them achieve that.
CRHS PTSA Spring Garage sale
The CRHS PTSA will be holding the Cougar Community Garage Sale on Saturday, March 27 (with a rain date of April 17). The garage sale runs from 7am to noon with check-in taking place from 6am-7am, in the CRHS parking lot. To register for the event, please complete the registration form found at the PTSA website www.crhsptsa.org or download the form: Community Registration Form | KISD Employee/Booster Club Member Registration Form. New this year: Food Court inside! If you would like to register to sell food in the food court, or for more information about the Garage Sale, call Magda Saiz (281) 693-0825.

It will soon be time for your colleges to request “Mid Year Reports” from the counselors’ office. The process is as follows:
- You may turn requests in now to receive transcripts with updated seven semesters (includes Fall 2009).
- Each request must have a “green” Counselors’ Checklist, a transcript request with postage and fees, and the printed Mid Year Report form (available online or from the individual college if not online.
- Adequate time (15 business days) must be given to the counselors’ office for completion of these forms.
