CRHS Wind Ensemble Selected To Perform At National Music Festival
The Cinco Ranch High School Wind Ensemble has been selected to perform at the National Wind Band Festival at Indianapolis, Indiana, in March of 2010. Cinco Ranch is one of only 15 high school concert bands across America to receive the distinction of performing at this prestigious and highly acclaimed event.  The selection for this renowned music festival is made through an audition CD submitted by each band across the country. Cinco Ranch was accepted from a recording of its 2009 UIL contest program. The Concert UIL program demonstrated the superior quality of playing and exceptional musicianship that also earned the band a sweepstakes of top scores from the contest judges. The fact that a band program barely 10 years old can receive this distinction is almost as impressive as the honor itself. Band Director Mike Ouellette is extremely proud of every member of his band for their dedication and achievements and believes that this is only the beginning of an even more amazing year for the program.

CRHS Volleyball Team
Please congratulate the Cinco Ranch Varsity Volleyball Team for getting 5th place out of 76 teams in the Pearland tournament in August.  After their 3 wins in division play, they beat Allen and Amarillo on Friday, then lost to the Woodlands but came back to beat Stratford and College Park on Saturday to get the 5th place plaque.

CRHS Tennis Team
Varsity tennis team started district play at Taylor.  Being short-handed due to injuries and illness, we knew it would be a struggle.  We were down 5-2 after doubles and lost the first two singles matches to come off the court to be down 2-7.  Then we began to rally and get to 8-9 before losing a match to fall 8-10.  We completed and won the final match for a final score of 9-10.  It was a very gutsy performance as we won four matches after losing the first set either 6-0 or 6-1.
