From podcasts to porn, cyberbullying to cell phones, Dr. Russell Sabella will help participants understand the risks that emerge when high-tech tools, uninformed parents, and exuberant youth collide. Because kids are growing up with modern technologies, many are more expert than their parents. This workshop will empower parents, educators, and other care takers to better understand the electronic terrain. Participants will be better able to help children safely and securely navigate a minefield of inappropriate and risky situations.

This year we have noticed that some students have customized their student identification cards by coloring or cutting them. This trend is problematic for the school. Altered ID cards make it difficult to ensure that the right student is accessing accounts or checking out books. During the week of September 29th through October 3rd, we will exchange new ID cards for altered ID cards. Students who have lost their ID cards are still responsible for replacing them. Beginning October 6, 2008 students with altered or mangled ID cards will be expected to purchase a replacement card. Replacement ID cards may be purchased n the library for $3.00. | | |

That’s a question all visitors will hear every time they enter the building this year. Why? Because the days of counting our on-campus, school day volunteer hours by notebook are long gone! CRJH has been chosen to pilot a new Katy ISD initiative that tracks volunteer hours through the campus Raptor system.
So, when you visit CRJH to volunteer, be it for the workroom, library, volunteer meetings, class parties, attendance office, hospitality, Junior Achievement, KEYS mentoring, or any other volunteer function, your time in the building will be automatically tallied. All you have to do is answer “Yes!” with a smile. | | |
