Welcome to CRJH Theatre Arts!

Here are a few things you will want to know about the upcoming 2008-2009 school year:

Theatre Arts 1: This is a fast paced, energetic, participation class. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in several performance projects throughout the year. Students will be expected to work independently and in teacher assigned groups. In this class we will be covering the basics of Theatre Arts. We take time to build trust in the class so that everyone feels comfortable performing.

Theatre Arts 2: This is the advanced Theatre Arts class. We develop individual acting technique and have more design opportunities for the productions at CRJH. We build upon the skills learned in Theatre 1 to prepare them for Theatre in High School.

Coyote Company:  This is an organization open to all CRJH students that have an interest in Theatre Arts.  Students are encouraged to become active in school productions and Theatre Department sponsored workshops.

Jr. International Thespian Society: This is an International Honor organization. In Theatre all actors are known as “thespians”. This is in honor of the person regarded as the first actor, a Greek named Thespis. Students earn admittance to this group by earning points. Points are given by the director for work done after school on play productions.
