Math: For the last half of the fifth six weeks, we will be learning about geometry. Students should be able to identfy and describe the attributes of both two- and three-dimensional figures. They should also be able to identify congruent figures and lines of symmetry.
Science: We will spend the second part of the 5th six weeks learning about animals and ecosystems. Students should be able to identify the basic needs of animals and how plants and animals interact with the environment. Each class will study a particular ecosystem so they can learn about the particular adaptations, plants, and animals of that ecosystem. Students will research a certain aspect of their ecosystem and will present the information to the rest of the class. Partners will research a plant or animal from their ecosystem and present what they learned to the class.
