Author, Jeff Savage, is coming to Hayes!

On Tuesday, October 7th, award winning children's author, Jeff Savage will be visiting our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Hawks.  Mr. Savage is America's leading author of children's non-fiction sports books.  He has more than 150 books in print!  He is an eight-time award winner of the International Reading Association Children's Choice Award and winner of the Voice of Youth Advocates Non-Fiction Honor Award.  Jeff is offering Katy School families a discount on his books.  In addition, each book you purchase can have a personal inscription.  Because of the hurricane, we will be taking book orders ($14 hard cover; $6 paperback) through Tuesday, October 7th.  Mr. Savage will autograph the books and mail them back to us after his visit.  If you need a book order form, please stop by the library office.

Bluebonnet Breakfast

Calling all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders!  Our next Bluebonnet breakfast will be Wednesday, October 8th at 7:40 AM.  We will be reading Marvelous Mattie:  How Margaret E. Knight Became an Inventor  by Emily Arnold McCully.  We had such a great turnout for the September breakfast!  I hope to see even more of you at this one!  Bring your breakfast and join us!  Moms and dads are welcome, too!  We look forward to seeing you there!

2 X 2 Breakfast

Attention Kindergarten, First, and Second graders!  Our first Texas 2 x 2  breakfast was cancelled because of Hurricane Ike, but never fear!  We will be having our "second" first breakfast on Thursday, October 16th at 7:45 A.M.  Bring your breakfast and join us while we read Big Smelly Bear by Britta Teckentrup.  Moms, dads, grandas and grandpas are welcome, too!  Hope to see you there!
