From the Registrars
If you have moved in the past several months and you need to make an address change, to do so, you must provide the Registrar’s office with a new proof of residence. That can be a current water, gas or light bill or the lease agreement for your new house or apartment. An address change will not be made if one of those documents is not provided. If you have any questions, please go by the Registrar’s office.

Juniors and Seniors: now is the time to start thinking about financial aid for college! Plan to attend a free workshop and learn valuable information at Cinco Ranch High School, LGI Room, on Sept. 9th, starting at 7 pm. GPA exemption applications are due to your counselor by September 12th. The GPA exemption is only available to students who qualify by being in the third or fourth consecutive year of a program (which means only junior and/or seniors are eligible) that is covered under the exemption policy. Applications and an information brochure are available in the counselor’s office. Students must meet the perquisites of each course and have parent, teacher, and counselor approval.
Parking
Parking permits are required this week!! If you haven’t purchased your parking permit for this year, stop by the Senior Office and purchase one for $35.00. You will also need the parking forms signed by you and your parents, your driver’s license and your insurance card at the time of purchase.
Seniors if you applied for senior parking, and have not picked up your sticker, come to the senior office and pick it up.
School Picture Day is September 9th for all juniors, sophomores and freshmen. Pictures will be taken during English class.
Yearbooks and DVD Video Yearbooks are on sale now. Yearbooks are $60 and Video Yearbooks are $10. Go to smart-pay.com to order.
Open House is September 15th at 6:30pm. You can purchase your required reading for English class in the library during open house!
Katy High School is honoring Katy High’s 110th year with a Homecoming theme of “Reflections”. We would like to use copies of past KHS homecoming pictures throughout the commons as the decorations. CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
Senior Class Info
Senior Voting for Project Prom or Project Grad will be today in B112 during all lunches. You will also be voting for the Senior Shirt design.
If you want your Senior Picture in this year’s yearbook, you must have your picture taken with Lifetouch by Saturday, Sept. 13.
Junior Class Rings
On Tuesday, September 9th we’ll be on a 30-Minute Activity Schedule in order to hold the Junior Class ring presentation by Balfour in the PAC (9:32-10:18).
The Junior Class will attend a ring presentation by Balfour for information on selecting and ordering rings. Balfour representatives will be set up in the Main Commons on September 16th, 5-7:00 PM to answer parent questions about ordering class rings. Students should plan to submit orders to Balfour representatives on September 16th & 17th during lunch periods in the Main Commons.
Freshmen interested in running for class officer need to pick up and return an application to the 9th grade office. The deadline to turn in your application is Monday, September 8 at 7:30 a.m.
Student Council Meeting; Come to the first Student Council Meeting on Monday, Sept. 8th in the KHS Library at 6:30pm. Join us for a “Sundae” on a Monday! Ice Cream will be served!
The Speech Club will have a very important meeting on Tuesday September 9th in Mr. Powell’s room B147. Come meet the new Speech Club officers and find out how you can become a part of a fun Katy Tiger Club. Refreshments will be served. Come for the food, stay for the fun.
Best Buddies is going to have their first meeting of the year Wednesday September 10th in the commons immediately after school. Snacks will be provided.
Close-Up: If you are signed up to go to Washington, D.C. in January for Close Up, your final payment is due by September 30th. See Ms. Kleinmann in A077 or Mr. Gregory in A066 with any questions.
DARE ROLE MODELS: If you are in grades 9-11, pick up your application packets in room A225. Freshmen, your applications are available in your Assistant Principals' offices. They must be returned to Mrs. Blair or your AP by September 12th. You must sign up for an interview when you return your application. Recommitment forms are available for returning Role Models as well.
SPORTS
Volleyball
Today the volleyball teams are traveling to Foster High School to take on the Falcons. Games are scheduled to start at 4:30 and 5:30pm.
Tennis
Today and Saturday, the Varsity tennis team is playing in the Fort Bend ISD tournament.
Cross Country
Today, the Tiger Cross Country teams are running at George Park in Richmond, TX in the Lamar Consolidated Invitational.
Football
Last night the sub-varsity football teams took on The Woodlands Highlanders.
JV lost 19-14
Sophomores lost 18-14
Freshmen Red won 28-20
Freshmen White won 12-6
Today, the Varsity will take on the Highlanders at the new Wood Forest Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
CHANGE--STUDENT TICKET PRICE AT RHODES STADIUM
Student ticket prices at Rhodes Stadium has been changed to $6.00. Adult ticket prices at Rhodes Stadium remains $12.00. For questions call the Katy ISD Athletic Department at 281-396-7780.
