Schedule Changes
Wednesday, August 27th, 3pm will be the last chance to turn in the yellow form for schedule changes. Form MUST HAVE parent signature before your counselor can make any schedule changes.
Locks and Lockers
If you put a lock on a locker and DID NOT return the yellow locker form number, the locker you picked does NOT belong to you. Also, if you turned in a yellow locker form number and DID NOT put a lock on your locker, then the locker is NOT assigned to you.
YOU MUST have a lock on your locker AND turn in the yellow locker form or that locker does NOT belong to you!!!!

Pep Rally Friday
KHS will have a Pep Rally in the Competition Gym this Friday August 29th 1:56-2:35. You must be wearing a red shirt or school spirit shirt to attend. A school spirit shirt is one that represents a KHS club, sport, extracurricular activity, etc. No backpacks, food or drinks may be brought into the gym – please find a safe place for your backpack (locker) before coming to the gym.
Students enrolled in after-school LOTE classes (Japanese, Chinese, & ASL), classes begin this week. All classes are scheduled from 3:15-5:15 p.m. Please include this information in your announcements for the rest of this week.
Tuesday/Thursday classes (ASL I at MRHS; Chinese I at SLHS; Chinese III Pre-AP at SLHS; Japanese I at SLHS; Japanese III Pre-AP/IV AP at MRHS) will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26, 2008.
Monday/Wednesday classes (Chinese II at SLHS; Japanese I at MRHS; Japanese II at MRHS) will begin on Wednesday, August 27, 2008.
School Picture Day is September 9th for all juniors, sophomores and freshmen. Pictures will be taken during English class.
Open House will be September 15th at 7pm.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
NHS Officers, please meet in Ms. Kleinmann’s room, A077 Wednesday morning at 7:10.
The Choir will be selling Chick-Fil-A breakfast biscuits every Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. The cost is $2.00, and we will have two locations this year: in C Hall outside the West Cafeteria, and our new location by the north entrance to the Commons on Main Campus.
PEER MENTORS: Senior Peer Mentors will receive service hours for National Honor Society and Seniors Volunteering Proudly for attending Leadership Training and working Fish Camp this summer. Please come by Room A225 and see Mrs. Blair for further information.
DARE ROLE MODELS: If you are in grades 9-11, you may now pick up application packets in room A225. Freshmen, your applications are available in your Assistant Principals' offices. They must be returned to Mrs. Blair or your AP by Monday, September 8. You must sign up for an interview when you return your application. Recommitment forms are available for returning Role Models as well.
SPORTS
Tennis
In varsity Tennis action last Friday your Tigers defeated Alief Elsik 16 – 2 at Alief. The Tiger tennis team will face Cy-Falls this Thursday, home @ 2:45.
Basketball
Any freshmen or sophomore young men interested in trying out for basketball, and are currently not in 1st period athletics, need to visit with Coach Okruhlik as soon as possible. This applies only to those who are not participating in a fall sport.
