Scholarships:

In order for our Counselors to give each student's scholarship(s) and/or application paperwork the full attention it deserves, we are asking that you submit your paperwork for counselor or teacher recommendations at least TWO WEEKS before the deadline date.  Please be considerate; check your deadline dates and give your counselor the maximum amount of time possible.  Thanks!!!

All colleges and universities offer some type of scholarships.  To view scholarships, please visit the college website of your choice!    

 

Angelo State University - Carr Academic Scholarship
Criteriagraduating high school senior; must attend ASU; rank in the top 45% of class; SAT 1020+ (combined M & CR); 22+ACT
Award Amount:  up to $4,500 per year

Baylor University - Carr P. Collins Scholarship
Criteriagraduating Texas high school senior; must attend Baylor University and meet all requirements; SAT 1250+ (CR+M); ACT 28+; top 25% of class; demonstrate leadership thru service
Award Amount:  $4,350 renewable up to 3 years

Burger King Scholars Scholarship
Criteriagraduating U.S. high school senior; GPA 2.5+; work part-time an average of 15 hrs per week; must be involved in community service; demonstrate financial need; plan to enroll in an accredited 2 yr or 4 yr college/vocational technical school Fall 2010
Award Amount:  $1,000

Czech Heritage Society of Texas - Victor Peter Memorial Scholarship
Criteriagraduating Texas high school senior; must attend a 4 year college or university
Award Amount:  $500

Gates Millennium Scholars
Criteriagraduating high school senior; African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American; US citizen; GPA 3.3+; must enroll Fall 2009 at a U.S. accredited college/university as a full time student; demonstrated leadership abilities thru community service, extracurricular or other activities; meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria
Award Amount:  varies

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Criteriamust be a current senior and plan to enroll as a full-time student; GPA B+; exhibited leadership in school activities; volunteered in community activities or school sponsored community work

Houston Hispanic Forum
Criteriamust be a current senior and plan to enroll as a full-time student and pursue your first undergraduate degree at an accredited institution; GPA 3.0+; U.S. citizen; must apply to FAFSA
Award Amount:  varies

KFC Colonel's Scholars
Criteriagraduating high school senior; GPA 2.75+; must enroll in a public college/university within their state of legal residence; pursue a bachelor's degree; U.S. citizen or permanent resident; demonstrate financial need
Award Amount:  up to $5,000 per year, renewable

National Co-op Scholarship
Criteriagraduating high school senior; GPA 3.5+; must complete all the required applications material and be accepted for the 2010-2011 academic year at one of the following listed National Commission Partner Institutions:  Drexel University, Johnson & Wales, Kettering, Pace, Rochester Institute of Technology, University  of Cincinnati, University of Toledo, and Wentworth Institute of Technology
Award Amount:  170 of $6,000 each

St. Edwards University - Guaranteed Trustees Scholar Award
Criteriagraduating high school senior attending St. Edwards University will be guaranteed this award if you rank in the top 20% of your class and score at least 1200+ on the SAT or 27 (not counting the writing section) on the ACT.  Students with higher test scores and class ranks often receive additional scholarship money
Award Amount:  $40,000 ($10,000 per year for 4 years)

 St. Edwards University - The Holy Cross Scholar Award
Criteriagraduating high school senior attending St. Edwards University will be guaranteed this award if you rank in the top 10% of your class and score at least 1250+ on the SAT or 28 (not counting the writing section) on the ACT.  Students must have an outstanding commitment to leadership, service and academics
Award Amount:  full tuition for 4 years

Southern Methodist University - Hunt Leadership Scholarship
Criteriagraduating high school seniors who will enter SMU Fall 2010; demonstrated extraordinary leadership; must submit Hunt essay; top 25% of class; SAT 1250+ (M+CR); ACT 28+ 
Award Amount:  full tuition and fees

 Texas A & M Foundation Excellence Award Scholarship
Criteriagraduating high school seniors who will enter Texas A & M, College Station, Fall 2010 from underrepresented groups & minorities with financial need; grades & leadership history are considered

YES - Young Epidemiology Scholars
Criteriahigh school junior or senior; U.S. citizen; must submit a research project that sheds light on a health problem, using the methods of analysis employed by epidemiologists
Award Amount:  up to $50,000
