In order for our Counselors to give each student's scholarship(s) and/or application paperwork the full attention it deserves, we are asking that you submit your paperwork for counselor or teacher recommendations at least TWO WEEKS before the deadline date. Please be considerate; check your deadline dates and give your counselor the maximum amount of time possible. Thanks!!!

Chinese Professional Club
Criteria: high school senior - must graduate by June 2009; of Chinese Descent (min. 1/4); must reside in the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area; must attend college Fall 2009
Award Amount: minimum of 10 from $1,000 to $2,000 each

Horatio Alger Scholarship 2009
Criteria: high school senior - must graduate spring/summer 2009; must attend college Fall 2009 and pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution; critical financial need ($50,000 or lower adjusted gross income per family); US citizenship; GPA 2.0+; involvement in co-curricular & community service activities
Award Amount: varies from $2,500 to $25,000
How to Apply: must submit an online application at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships and fullfill all application requirements

New York University
Criteria: high school senior - must graduate by June 2009, attend NYU and major in education
Award Amount: $1,000 to $15,000 annually
