Mayde Creek Elementary boasts a strong team made up of children, parents, faculty, staff, community and business partners. Our campus has been recently remodeled and looks like a brand new school. Everyone at MCE works together to ensure that students develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
Implementing our outstanding Katy ISD curriculum takes on many forms. Children can be found in the hallway at the Estimation Station with each class
solving an estimation problem, in classrooms enjoying literature circles, in the computer lab or computer stations in each classroom, or in the field integrating
instruction with P.E., just to name a few examples. Along with effective practices in the regular classrooms, Mayde Creek Elementary has many special programs and innovative arrangements to provide opportunities for students to meet their learning needs.
Personal attention is important. The faculty and staff work hard to ensure that each child is special, not just a number. Collaboration among staff members ensures that every child’s unique learning strengths and needs are addressed. Community volunteers may become KEYS (Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success) mentors, making the "turn around" difference for a student designated as "at risk."
Parents stay in touch with school activities through "Gator Gazette," a newsletter published monthly by the school. The PTA, volunteer program (VIPS/Volunteers in Public Schools), Campus Advisory Team and KEYS mentor program provide ample opportunities for parents and community members to become full working partners, insuring success for every student.
MCE Gators work on student citizenship, not only as school members, but as citizens of the community and world. Children have successfully raised money for charities such as Pennies for Patients.
