Would you like to help a child in Africa by donating books or school supplies?  The Student Council in partnership with Katy ISD and other community support groups is collecting new or gently used children’s books and non-perishable school supplies for the children of Nri, Nigeria through a program called Books Abroad.    Nri is the home of Amobi Okoye, a defensive lineman for the Houston Texans who moved to the United States when he was 12.  All donations made to Books Abroad will be distributed to one of the 10 schools in Nri.  These schools do not

provide books or school supplies to their students like schools in the US do, so the students only have what they can afford to purchase themselves.  For a list of school supplies that they accept, please see the flyer in any of your classrooms, or check with any Student Council member.  Donation boxes are located in the library, the main offices, and all administrator’s offices.  Please help us collect the most donations of any high school in Katy ISD! Donations will be accepted through December 15, 2009.

We will begin selling Chick-Fil-A breakfast biscuits on Tuesday’s in the rotunda from 7:00am – 7:30am .  The cost will be $3.00.  Help support MRHS and get your breakfast biscuits on Tuesday.
