About Alexander Elementary

Alexander Elementary, named after longtime KISD teacher and administrator Roosevelt Alexander, opened its doors in August 1998. Mr. Alexander was a dedicated educator who devoted the majority of his career to the students of Katy ISD. He can still be seen frequently on the RAE  (Roosevelt Alexander Elementary) campus making students smile and signing his autograph on the back of StingRAE’s shirts.

The StingRAE staff is a group of committed educators who work tirelessly to ensure that all Alexander students are receiving the best education possible. They are expected to continuously grow as professionals and never stop learning best practices for teaching our precious students. When hiring staff members, Principal Kristin Harper looks for positive individuals who have a passion for what they do in children’s lives and inspire their students to be an active part of the learning taking place.

Alexander is fortunate to have an extremely devoted community who is an active part of the daily life and overall operation of the school. A school newsletter co-sponsored by the PTA entitled “Tuesday Newsday” keeps parents informed of all upcoming events and ways they can get involved. The RAE PTA is an integral part of the RAE community. They hold two major fundraisers a year to help raise funds for the students of Alexander. They are often called upon to help support instructional initiatives and fund programs and field trips for our kids. The wonderful educational programs currently in place would not be possible without the assistance of the RAE community.

Alexander has numerous special programs and activities that enrich the already rigorous academic program that is offered. Students participate in Hands –On Science, Accelerated Reader, Destination Imagination, and differentiated instruction to meet individual needs in every classroom. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Student Council, Special PALS with high school students, and the Special Buddies program to provide support and friendship to our students with special needs.
