About Rhoads Elementary
Through the loving and caring dedication of our students, parents, community, and staff, Rhoads Elementary has “blasted off” to an exciting and challenging beginning, blazing a trail on the “Rhoads” to success.
For our students at Rhoads, every day is a learning adventure, guided by some of the most talented and committed teachers in Katy ISD. Not only do the teachers provide fun learning experiences that make students feel valued and respected, but they challenge the students to “blast” forward to exciting new paths.
Rhoads has many opportunities that allow our students to soar. The Accelerated Reader software program provides students with many choices of books to read. Students are also encouraged to participate in the Texas Bluebonnet Books program. We are avid readers here at Rhoads, and we provide plenty of enrichment, as well as extra help for those students who need it. Our REACH program helps struggling readers be more successful, and our AMI program helps students in the area of math. We also offer Pre-K classes as well as ESOL. Extended day academic tutorials are offered in order to provide support for students who need that extra boost. Rhoads also has a variety of other educational activities that get students excited about being life-long learners. Student Council, DARE, Choir, Rocket Singers, and Safety Patrol are just some of the wonderful activities that students can become involved with!
Supporting Rhoads are numerous volunteers who began preparations for our very first day of school in 2004 and who continue to help with daily activities. Our PTA moms and dads installed a new playground, raise funds for school projects, and assist teachers with special needs. Having parents on campus is extremely important to us and helps build a wonderful balance between home and school.
Due to the wonderful staff and community involvement here at Rhoads, a spirit of excellence will forever pave the way for our shining students to continually “Reach for the Stars!” The love and faith of our school’s namesakes, Jack and Sharon Rhoads, will always be reflected on the smiles and in the hearts of our children and staff.
