Library News
• To kick off the Texas 2x2 Reading Program at Rylander, we are asking students in second grade to read
at least 5 books that have been on any Texas 2x2 list (2000 to 2007). Kindergarten and first graders will have
a chance to join this reading program in April.
We have marked all of our RRE 2x2 books so that the students can easily identify them. After they read one of these books, have them color in one section of their boot. The sections that they color do not need to match the titles of the books that they read (if they read books from previous lists). After coloring in 5 sections, bring the paper to the library to receive a special Texas 2x2 tag!
The 2x2 Reading List is a project of the Children’s Round Table, a unit of the Texas Library Association. The 2x2 Committee develops an annual list of 20 recommended books for children, age two to grade two. For more information on the program, visit their website at http://www.txla.org/groups/crt/2x2intro.htm or check out
the information on our RRE website.Happy Reading!
