The UIL Social Studies team won Back-to-Back State Championships this past weekend at the UIL Academic State Meet. The Social Studies team helped the Spartans to clinch Sweepstakes Runner-Up for the second year in a row. Pictured from left to right, Mr. Irish, Effie Rahman, Fan Feng, Meridith Mock, and Chris Do. Meridith also won Back-to-Back Individual Social Studies State Championships. Nick Collins also captured an Individual State Title in Computer Science. Other Seven Lakes State Titles were Computer Science, Math, and Number Sense. Congratulations to all the teams and individuals that competed this past weekend at the UIL Academic State Meet.

Academic Decathlon:
***The team broke a scoring record, their team score of 47,941 is the highest score in the history of Texas Academic Decathlon for a 4A team. The Spartans were also the only school to capture all 3 team medals. Stephen Tu also was the highest scorer in the entire state (among all classifications)and became the all time high scorer for a 4A student in the history of Texas Academic Decathlon. The team also won almost $20,000 in scholarship money from TAD.
