Yearbooks will be distributed beginning Monday, May 21st during all lunches in room 253. Students must show a picture ID. There are a very limited number of extra books available for purchase beginning Monday for seniors only. All other students may purchase beginning Tuesday. They are $90. CASH ONLY!

Final Choir Concert for the School Year
Tuesday, May 22, 7PM
James E.Taylor High School Chorale had the honor of performing at an Inter-Faith Service in celebration of National Day of Prayer at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, May 6th, 2012. Their performance was a moving and fitting conclusion for the end of the year.
Their final performance, along with all choirs from THS, will be May 22nd and 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Taylor High School.

Registration for Project Graduation will be from Monday, April 2 – Thursday, April 5 during all lunches. After April 5th, please take all paper work to the Senior Office.
Cost is as follows:
- April 2 - April 5 $35.00/$50 guest
- April 9 - April 27 $45.00/$60 guest
- April 30 - May 18 $55.00/$70 guest
- After May 18th $65.00/$80 guest (Not eligible for prizes or t-shirts)

CLOSE-UP Trip to Washington, D.C.
January 17 - 23, 2013
Through seminars with Washington policy makers and study visits to government offices and historical sites, high school students get a "close up" look at the process of democracy and our nation's heritage. This seven day program in January prepares young citizens to meet the challenges of governing themselves and their nation. Fundraising is available to help pay for the cost of the trip.
This trip will coincide with the Inauguration of the President on January 20, 2013 and you will be in attendance for this historic occasion.

National Merit® $2,500 Scholarship
Winners Announced
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the 2012 winners of the prestigious $2,500 National Merit Scholarship. A total of six Katy ISD students were named among only 2,500 designees across the nation. Two students are from Taylor;

Katy Summer Academic Term
Katy ISD offers a summer term for elementary, junior high and high school students. There is an enrollment fee for most Katy Summer Academic Term courses. Course selection and enrollment in summer courses is limited and contingent upon teacher availability.

Teacher of the Year
Please congratulate Jackie Scott for being honored as our 2012 Teacher of the Year. THS Principal David Kendler made the presentation on Monday, February 27 during 3rd period, where Jackie was presented with her pin, certificate, and flowers. The picture includes her husband Dan, students from the Academic Decathlon team, her 3rd period Calculus class, Principal David Kendler and Katie Statham, Math Department Chair. Jackie will represent us in the district wide Teacher of the Year Competition.
