PTA Nominating Committee for Executive Board 2008-09

It is that time of year.  Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008-2009 PTA Executive Board.  Positions that are elected are:  President, Vice-President Fundraising, Vice-President Membership, Vice-President Programs, Vice-President VIPS (Volunteers), Secretary and Treasurer.  If you would like to nominate anyone for any of these positions, please contact Patsy Ledezma at ledezma227@yahoo.com.  Other board positions that are not an elected position, but are approved by the executive board, include:  Hospitality, Homeroom Coordinator, Reflections, Publicity, Yearbook, Youth Protection, Legislative, Historian and Parliamentarian.  If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Patsy.

The WME PTA Nominating Committee is now being formed.  This committee will accept the nominations for the executive board and determine the best candidate for each position.  They will then post the slate of officers.  If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Patsy Ledezma at ledezma227@yahoo.com.

PTA Lifetime Member Nominations

Nominations are now being accepted for PTA Life Membership Award.  Texas PTA Life Memberships are one of the highest honors that may be presented to individuals for outstanding service to children and youth.  If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please write down your nomination's name and reason for the nomination on a piece of paper.  Please place it in an envelope addressed to     "Michele Kryger, Membership" and return it to you child's teacher.  There are many great people worthy of this award so nominate someone today!   If you have any questions, you may contact Michele at 281-381-2288 or at mkryger@comcast.net.

SPRING MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Is one of your New Year's resolutions to become more involved in your child's school? Here's a great way to accomplish your goal.  West Memorial Elementary is kicking off its Spring Membership Drive.  Becoming a member of the WME PTA is a quick and easy way of meeting your resolution.  Membership only costs $4.00, but the good you bring to your child's school by becoming a member lasts a lifetime.  Once you become a member, you have the ability to vote at our general assembly meetings on issues that affect your child's life at WME.  It’s easy to join.
