Summer school Registration started on our campus on March 31. Summer school brochures, registration forms and credit card payment forms are available at the campus counselors’ office or on the Katy ISD website at: www.katyisd.org. Tuition may be paid with cash, money order, cashier’s check, Visa or Master Card. No personal checks will be accepted.
Health is closed for the 1st summer semester. Communications Applications (Speech), World Geography, World Geography PRE-AP, Academic Geometry and Geometry Pre-AP are closed for both summer semesters.
There will be an HCC Dual Credit Information Meeting Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30 P.M. in the CRHS Main Commons. Students that have signed up to take HCC Dual Credit Classes in the fall of 2008 need to attend this meeting to receive important information regarding registration procedures and HCC requirements/policies. Parents are encouraged to attend. An HCC representative will be there to provide information and answer questions.
Got Books?? If so, please return them to the library today. Remember that all books are now overdue and the last day to clear fines for exemptions is Wednesday, May 14.
The last issue of the year for the Cougar Express will be going out the 3rd week of May!! We would like to make this a really special one!!!! Please submit your articles, announcements, lists, well wishes, pictures etc. (school related of course) to us as soon as possible. You can send it directly to us at StoneLL@comcast.net. Please designate in the subject line that it's for the May CE. Deadline is May 15.
Attention Parents of the Classes of 2009 & 2010 There is an important College Financial Aid Parent Workshop (Classes of 2009 and 2010) at Cinco Ranch High School on May 13, 7 p.m. sponsored by Katy ISD Community Education. Over $400,000,000 in aid money will be awarded by November 1. Come and learn what you can do THIS summer, to better make contact with this money. Please use the CRHS main entrance and follow the signs. No reservations are needed and handouts will be provided at the event. FISH Roundup Mentor Students interested in being a FISH Roundup mentor please pick up a green form in your English teacher’s class. Make sure you complete the form and return it by May 16 to room 1629 (Mrs. Manthei’s room).
Students, faculty and staff Bring your family and friends to the Best Buddies and Carrie's Heart events on Saturday, May 17 at Los Cucos on Avenue D at 1st Street for an evening of double fun!! Start out at 5pm with the Carrie's Heart Yucatan Fiesta...enjoy a fajita dinner, entertainment and the opportunity to win great raffle prizes, all in a family-centered all-inclusive party environment! Head over to the Merrell Center at 7pm for Best Buddies Night at the Ruff Riders game. Join us for one or both events. Tickets must be purchased in advance. See the Best Buddies board or Mrs. Dolan for details and ticket information.
Choir Placement Students interested in auditioning for a competition choir should see Mrs. Wilson or Mr. West in the Choir Room as soon as possible.
Close-Up Students who have registered for CloseUp should come to Room 2625 to pick up important information before 3pm on May 20.
The 2008 Panorama yearbooks will be distributed at all lunches Tuesday, May 13 through Thursday, May 15. Upperclassmen who pre-ordered a book online may pick up their copies in the Rotunda, while 9th graders may pick up copies in the 9th grade foyer near the PAC. Students must have a photo ID to pick-up a yearbook. A limited supply of extra copies will go on sale to seniors on Tuesday, and to underclassmen beginning Wednesday. The cost is $65 and must be paid in cash.
Walk-a-Thon Seniors of CRHS have organized a Walk-a-thon to riase money to create awareness and fund research for Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease. We are walking in honor of John Dineen who has CMT, and is the father of Kaitlin Dineen, a senior at CRHS. The event will be held at the Cinco Ranch High School Track from 9-11 am on Saturday, May 24th. Cost is $5 and includes a t-shirt and lots of fun! 100% of the proceeds will go to research for CMT.
Summer Volunteer Hours Any students wanting to volunteer in the Textbook room during the summer should stop by the bookroom to sign up now. Help will be needed starting June 3rd.
The CRHS Ping Pong Club will be sponsoring a Spring Tournament for all interested students and faculty. The date is Friday, May 23 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the 9th Grade Center. There are 2 levels: Novice and Advanced. Entry for club members and faculty is FREE, entry for non-club members is $5.00. The sign up sheet is on Mr. Eaton’s door (room 2227).
Tie Collection Drive It’s time to clean out Dad’s closet! Bring in a tie to the front office to win a gift certificate. You may bring in more than one tie. For each tie you turn, you may fill out an entry to win a gift certificate. It doesn’t have to be a pretty tie!
FISH ROUND-UP Cinco Ranch High School proudly announces its Class of 2012 Fish Roundup (formerly known as Fish Camp & Roundup). Teachers and supervised upperclassmen will host a fun-filled and informative day for the incoming freshmen on Tuesday, August 5, 2008; from 9am to 4pm. Incoming freshmen will tour the 9th grade center and the main campus as they meet many new friends at CRHS. In addition, the incoming freshmen will receive a copy of their course selections, take yearbook pictures, pick-up student ID badges, and obtain textbooks and lockers. A pizza lunch will be provided for all registered freshmen. That same evening from 7-10 PM students who have attended Fish Roundup are invited to a dance in their honor. The exclusive Fish Roundup T-shirt will be their ticket into the dance. Date: Tuesday, August 5th Time: Fish Roundup is 9am – 4pm; the dance is 7pm – 10pm. Fee: $20.00 ($25.00 After July 7) includes T-shirt for entry into dance Deadline: Postmarked by Monday July 7, 2008 (must be received by July 21, 2008 to guarantee a t-shirt)

Mandatory ID Badges Effective immediately, all students must present their school ID when checking into after school detention and Saturday detention. Students who report without an ID will not be permitted to enter and will be referred to the grade level AP for failure to serve. If you have lost your ID, replacements cost $3 and may be requested at any time through the main campus front office. Replacement IDs are available for pick-up on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.
