Katy Elementary is the oldest elementary school in Katy ISD. It sits on the same plot of ground as the first one-room schoolhouse built in 1898 to serve the prairie townsite of Katy, Texas. The present school, built in 1965, was renovated and enlarged in 1989. It was enlarged again in 1995 to accommodate the growing population of this area. The present enrollment of Katy Elementary is about 565 students in grades Pre K-5.
