Katy Elementary is the oldest elementary school in Katy ISD. It sits on the same plot of ground as the first one-room schoolhouse built in 1898 to serve the prairie townsite of Katy, Texas. The present school, built in 1965, was renovated and enlarged in 1989. It was enlarged again in 1995 to accommodate the growing population of this area. The present enrollment of Katy Elementary is about 565 students in grades Pre K-5.

2/9/2010 6:30 PM   3rd Grade Program 
The third grade classes have been working hard on their program. They will perform it at 2:00 for the entire school and again at 6:30.
2/12/2010 8:10 AM   Roses, Hearts and Hugs 
Show your appreciation to the faculty and staff at KE today. You can write thank you notes, draw pictures, make cards, send treats, or whatever you like. It's up to you! Each teacher has a sack by the front office. Just drop your surprise in the bag.

It's President's Day.
This is also the Bad Weather Make Up Day.
2/19/2010 12:40 PM   Early Dismissal/End of 4th 6 Weeks 
The kids get out at 12:40.
It's the end of the 4th six weeks grading period.
2/23/2010 6:30 PM   POWER Graduation 
The 5th graders have been learning how to be safe through the POWER program. Graduation is tonight!
2/25/2010 12:00 AM   KISD Livestock Show and Rodeo 
The KISD LS&R lasts for several days. There are many fun events during these 3 days. Be sure to check your local paper for more details.

It's that time again! Check your child's backpack and folder for the report card.

Talent show time! Do you want to be in it? Try out with Mrs. Ahnberg.
3/4/2010 5:30 PM   Open House/Dinner and Art Show/PTO Meeting 
Come visit your child's classroom and see what he/she has been doing. The kids have been very busy! Also check out the wonderful Art Show. Don't forget to make reservations for dinner. A note will be sent home with the menu and the price. The PTO meeting...
