 McMeans was honored to be recognized by Mr. Frailey for his “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” Award on Wednesday, November 28th. Mr. Frailey presented the award during our 7th grade lunch. We were recognized  because we are a “No Place for Hate School” –the only junior high in KISD. In order to become a NPFH school,  certain programs such as Rachel’s Challenge, and anti-bullying initiatives need to be established and firmly in    place. We also, with the help of PTA members Shelly England and Cynthia Darden, and counselor, Jan Karwowski, created a No Place for Hate club, that meets regularly and helps foster a positive environment for all on campus.

We are very proud to be recognized for the great work  that our students, staff and parents accomplish!

No student may participate in a tryout, sport, or the Taylor Strength and Conditioning Camp unless a physical is on file.  The physical must be dated after May 1, 2013 to be good for next school year.
 
KISD offers physical examinations annually.  Although KISD recommends the use of your family doctor for the physical examination, the following screening is available as an economical convenience for its patrons.  KISD sponsored physical examinations will be performed by the Medical Colleges of Texas at a fee of $25.00.  The medical history portion of the packet must be filled out in its entirety before the physical exam is administered.

FYI...8th grade students planning to take summer school classes to earn original credit courses...

Early registration will take place at McMeans Junior High beginning April 9th and will end May 17th. You will need to bring a completed registration form and payment with you to the registration. However, no checks are accepted.

Only cash, cashier’s check, money order, Master Card or Visa will be accepted. Registration forms can be accessed through www.katyisd.org >KSAT (Katy Academic Summer Term).

 Incoming freshman for the fall will be able to choose from the following original credit courses:

·         Health

·         Speech

·         PE Foundations (Boys & Girls)

·         Individual & Team Sports (Boys & Girls)
