Whenever your child is injured/has been ill and needs to be excused from physical activities, please be sure to send a note/doctor’s excuse to school with your child. We have had several students come to physical education class saying they cannot participate; yet, without a note, we do not know how long they need to be excused. It is very helpful for us to know the reason for the excuse so that we can modify their activities accordingly. Also, emphasize to your child being excused from physical education includes sitting out of recess. Thanks for helping us out. |

If you come to the school to have lunch, to visit, to volunteer, or to a conference with the teacher, etc., please remember to always have your identification with you. You will be asked to show it each time you come to school.

| | Among school children, infestation with head lice is common. The very best place for the control of lice to begin and continue is in the child’s home. Throughout the rest of the school year, please examine your child’s scalp on a regular basis. Head lice are often spread by direct contact with infested individuals. Intense itching and scratching of the scalp and the back of the neck is the main symptom along with detection of the eggs or adult lice. If head lice are detected, please notify the school clinic. Lice can come from almost anywhere, a classmate, an upholstered movie theater seat, a neighborhood child’s hat or coat, a shared comb or brush, and/or any after school extracurricular activities. Lice outbreaks are common among school children and even the cleanest child can easily come in contact with the insect. Head lice are not a serious medical condition, but needs to have diligent parental cooperation to control. For any questions, please fill free to contact Michelle Klar at 281-237-5875. |

MPE has chosen to honor mothers the week of May 13-17 by allowing our students the opportunity to invite their mothers to come and have lunch with them.
Due to the space constraints, we ask that you limit your invitation to one day of the week. In addition, we want to remind everyone that the Nutrition Policy put in place by the Texas Dept. of Agriculture, allows parents to provide food only for their child.
All visitors must show a valid ID with a photo to obtain a visitor’s pass. Please remember to arrive a few minutes early to allow time to receive your Raptor visitor pass.
More information will be sent home. |

The 2013-2014 School Supply List is now available. In order to avoid purchasing any supplies that will not be used by the student, PLEASE purchase supplies listed on the chart for the appropriate grade level of the student.
