STARR Testing Information

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) tests will be administered at Morton Ranch High School on the following dates: |
• Monday, May 14th- Algebra I & Geometry
• Tuesday, May 15th- Biology
9th Grade students who are testing will follow an alternate/ testing day schedule. 9th grade students not involved with testing will follow their normal schedules.
Important reminders for STAAR testing on these days:
• The 9th grade campus will be closed to all parents and visitors until 1:00 p.m. on testing days.
• No cell phones or iPods are allowed in or near testing rooms at any time on testing days. Any student that is found in possession of a phone in the testing environment could receive disciplinary consequences.
• Students are allowed to bring a bottle of water with them for testing days.
• Makeup tests will be administered on the following days. All makeups will be administered starting at 7:30 a.m. in the LGI. Students will have additional makeup opportunities in July and December.
o World Geography- Friday, May 11th
o Algebra I, Geometry and Biology- Friday, May 18th *Students will have the opportunity to make up one exam on this date.
Please note that students who took a STAAR EOC course during the 2011 Summer School Term (for example World Geography or Geometry) WILL NOT take the STAAR EOC test for that course this May. Those students are exempt from taking an EOC for the course they completed last summer.

Katy Summer Academic Term
Summer School early registration takes place April 2nd thru May 16th. Limited need based scholarships are available. Scholarship applications are due Thursday, April 5th, no exceptions. Please see the Counselor’s Office for an application.
