 Project V.O.T.E

vote    Project V.O.T.E!  USA

Every four years the people of the United States have the opportunity to celebrate our freedom by participating in the election of our President.  To foster civic responsibility in our students, Katy ISD will participate in Project V.O.T.E. (Voters of Tomorrow through Education). This is a statewide mock Presidential election sponsored by the Texas Secretary of State. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in this mock election by registering and voting in their social studies or homeroom classes.  To facilitate the counting of votes and disaggregation of voter data, registering and voting will be done by computer for students in Grades 3-12 using the students’ identification number. The voter registration on-line form will ask the students for their student identification number and password.   All data will be collected at a protected site on the district server. Individual student information will only be accessible by the web master and will be deleted at the conclusion of the project.  The privacy of individual students will be guarded at all times. If you would like for your child not to participate in this activity, please send a note to your child’s homeroom teacher.
