The Katy ISD summer break starts June 5 and continues until the first day of the 2009-10 school year, which is August 24. A limited staff will be on campus during the summer but most student-related personnel will be gone.
As we near the 2009-10 school year, please check back here to view important updates regarding various events and deadlines. Also, check Katyisd.org for registration information as well as district-wide events such as open houses, orientations, school supply lists, and transportation information. In addition, you can access our parent programs such as the Parent Information Center and MealPay from the district website.

2008-2009 yearbooks will not be delivered until August. The senior principal allows the seniors to vote on the delivery date of the yearbook. If the book comes out in May (as many other school’s books do) there are many activities left out like prom, graduation, baseball, softball, etc. Consequently, the seniors voted to have the book come out in the summer so all of these activities and organizations are included in the book.
We don’t have an exact arrival date yet. It will be here in the beginning to middle of August. Keep checking the website for pick-up date and time.
Also, at this time yearbook sales are over. The Smart-Pay website has sold all the books that were allotted for SLHS. There is a possibility that Taylor Publishing will print extra books and they will come in August. However, there is no guarantee. If there are extra books, they will be for sale on a first come, first served basis in August.
College Visits… A reminder about college visit criteria
As per KISD policy, Juniors and Seniors are allowed one excused day of college absence during their Junior year and one excused day of college absence during their senior year. If this absence has been properly requested and approved, making sure form is completed and returned one week in advance for approval, it will not count against exemption absences during the semester in which it was taken.
