CLARIFICATION on Parent Night Dates - This is a DATE CHANGE from the originally published dates:

Mark your calendar!! Parent Night for course selection information will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Parents of current 6th grade students can come from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and parents of current 7th grade students can come from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their students for the presentations.

Be sure to check the Publications and Document Links for FLYERS and Presentations concerning Upcoming Parent Nights for Current 6th and 7th graders!

                                                    Eighth Grade into High School

High School Student Programs     The high school counselors from KHS and SLHS will visit with your current 8th grader about high school credits and courses on Wednesday, Feb. 24 during Advisory.   Your student will come home with a Course Catalog Planning Guide, Flyer for a Parent Night Program, and Course Selection Worksheet on that day.

High School Parent Night Programs

Katy High School                   Thursday, Feb. 25      7:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center at KHS

(KHS staff will discuss credit requirements for graduation, PreAP/Academic options, classes available for 9th grade students, and allow time for questions and concerns.)

Seven Lakes High School      Monday, March 1      6:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center at SLHS 

(The ninth grade counselors will address new course requirements and course selections for incoming 9th grade students, as well as general tips on helping your student be successful in high school.  Following the program, parents will be invited to visit tables to collect information about various clubs, organizations and sports available at our school and to speak with some of the staff.)

 Valentine's Store will be open during Lunch hours on Feb. 10, 11, 12!  Gifts for family and friends will be available!

FRONT OFFICE PROCEDURES

 ·   We will make student deliveries to the classroom during the first 5 minutes of the class period only.  This helps to reduce interruptions to the classroom.  Due to this, there will be no student deliveries made after 2:00.

·    Any messages from parents will be delivered to the students during advisory (8th period) only. 

·    Parents requesting students to call home – students may call home during lunch or advisory only.

The message below is from the director of nutrition and food service for Katy ISD.
 
Unfortunately we are experiencing numerous counterfeit bills being passed through the serving lines at many schools in the district, and at all levels, including elementary schools.
Due to this growing concern, the Nutrition and Food Service Department will no longer accept bills over $20.00 for the remainder of this school year. For your convenience and safety, please use www.mealpayplus.com, personal checks or money orders for larger prepaid amounts for your student’s account. Cash should be sent in bills smaller than twenty dollars.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
