Katy School Business Partnerships
This page last updated August 30, 2007
What do they look like?
Katy ISD School Business Partnerships are long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between a business and a school.
- Partnerships are created by campus PIE Liaisons and their business counterparts who negotiate and sign a partnership agreement outlining the papameters of their relationship.
- Partnerships are managed by Katy ISD Partners in Education, Campus PIE liaisons and business representatives.
- Partnerships are based upon mutual benefit and appreciation.
The Partnership Agreement outlines specific ways the school and business will support one another. Partnership Agreements can only be written by the Partners in Education department or a campus partnership liaison.
How can volunteer leaders support campus partnerships?
- Say thanks, personally, to our business partners whenever you get an opportunity.
- Keep track of the business support offered your volunteer organization and give that information to your campus PIE liaison.
- Talk to your campus liaison before approaching businesses for donations.
Always follow district guidelines for requesting business support for your event:
- Request donations in writing at least 4 weeks in advance.
- No drop in, face to face, last minute requests of businesses.
- Always follow up with a thank you letter.
- Always say thanks even if a business cannot support your campus this time.
Our volunteers serve as representatives of the district and their campus. Courtesy, appreciation and a big smile are always appreciated!
