Picture Gallery: VIPS Events 2004-05

In 2004-05, the Katy ISD VIPS program was "Surfing Through Change". In the spring of 2005 the Merrell Center first opened its doors, and one of the first events to be held in the new facility was the VIPS Celebration Breakfast.

  The VIPS Executive Board, 2004-05 tip their hats at the new Merrell Center.

James Williams, a senior honor student from Cinco Ranch High School was the keynote speaker, and volunteers were entertained by the Katy ISD High School Choir Ensemble, Mayde Creek High School Drumline, and Cheerleaders from all five Katy ISD high schools.

 Heroes


My Hero is....

  • my grandmothers, because both of them raised seven children during hard times and all of their children grew up to be caring, productive people.
  • my father, because he is my Dad, he helps me with problems, he tells me stuff, he teaches me stuff, he plays with me.
  • E.G. because when I fell off a 4-wheeler and stopped breathing, he gave me CPR and got me breathing again. He saved my life.
  • my 3rd grade teacher, because she ignited the fire that inspired me to become a teacher. Her classroom was filled with innovative and creative activities to keep us actively engaged in learning. I never wanted that year to end.
  • my mom, because she makes sure I get my homework done so I don't get in trouble.
